The ocean resort town of Monte Hermoso celebrates its patronal day in November—late spring in southern Argentina. In the afternoon, the image of Our Lady Star of the Sea processes from the parish Church of Stella Maris to the beach. After prayers and blessing of the sea, the procession continues by boat, stopping along the way to pray for the naval station. Back on land, the group offers prayers for the nation in the new Civic Center before returning to the church for mass.
